nature's own ikat...

on a flower found... over a rocky ridge - out back of my new condo...

i went for a quick walk - up a slippery slope of granite rock in my flip flops... okay - not a smart move as i slipped and slid along... i should probably wear shoes the next time but you know me - boo! i missed a wiley rabbit - he moved too quickly for me in the thick undergrowth... but i may get him yet since i know where his hiding place is - i heard many new bird songs... saw some interesting insects...

then stumbled upon this wonderful bright pink splash of color - bold - with what had to be the first ikat design ever... nature's own - sitting pretty in a small clump of weeds - growing wild in what appeared to be white clay - shining in the sunlight, it was a sight to see among basically dead rubble - sandy, gravelly stuff... yet there it was - in splendid glory... just for me to gaze upon - to appreciate - to recognize this had made for...
