The Scale of Diablerets Glacier

A perfect day to go to the Diablerets Summit with David and special friends of nearly 40 years. What a privilege that we are still fit enough to enjoy doing this. We split into 2 mini groups on the way up which was great to show the scale of this relatively small glacier which sadly, is melting like other glaciers world wide. The tiny people walking up Diablerets Glacier on their skis look ant like. You can see the wind blown effects on the surface of the snow. All last week the Glacier was closed with the foehn wind of up to 130km per hour. In the extra you can see more snow sculpting on the final summit ridge. Tomorrow a rest is in order!

Thanks so much for everyone's contribution to yesterday's sunset over the sea of cloud which is on the no. 1 Popular page. Honoured.
