A Corner of Ksar Sghrir

When we woke, the sky was clear blue with hardly a cloud. But we were moving out of the villa today, to move into an apartment in Tangier that was heated.

The photo is a double exposure of the mosque in the community on which is superimposed an image of the bare thistles rampant in the patch of ground by the stream that flows down the hill. I like the feel of the photo, even if it's not proper photography.

As we approached Tangier, which is only 30 km away, it became increasingly cloudy. Needless to say, rain set in in the afternoon, but by that time, we had already begun to thaw out.

We popped in to say Hello to Ahmed the pot man, whose shop still looks secure at the junction of the village road with the main road. He had some wonderful tagines and couscous dishes on display (see extra). Sadly, we had no spare capacity in our luggage to bring one home. We told him how much the tagines would cost in England. He was amazed.

We dashed across the road in pouring rain in the evening to try out The Souk restaurant next to the Hilton Garden Inn. It had looked promising when we'd gone in a couple of days ago, but the actual experience was very disappointing. Cold food and plates and meat that was as tough as old boots. Won't be returning there in a hurry. On the other hand, the patisserie next door is excellent.
