Déjeuner sous l'arbre
She comes from a long line of artists' models. Her great-great grand-mère was a model for Manet and her grand-mère posed for Picasso. But she is not a model. She is an artist. She works at the other end of the paintbrush.
It is conceivable that, somewhere along the line, artist and sitter DNA may have mixed - like paint on a palette. But, maybe, it is just a matter of proximity. Of generations of women thinking "I could do that".
