Ten Feet Away

Ten feet away. The house next door is ten feet away. The scaffolding runs the length of our house, but the house under construction next door is only ten feet away. I grew up out in the country on three and a half acres where our neighbors were more than ten feet away. Down here in Texas, this is the suburbs, but it feels like the city especially when the neighbors are only ten feet away. We said we wanted a small yard here in Texas where one sweats a gallon just stepping outside, let alone doing a little bit of yard work. But, ten feet away! Really? Who am I kidding, this country boy just can't get used to the city, especially when it is TEN FEET AWAY!
