Convinced

Went to work, worked, then left on time to get back home so that hubby and I could drive together to take a look at the other house with another real estate agent.  It's in the same neighbourhood as the first house but a few blocks further.  Hubby lived in this area 34 years ago, in the period right after his divorce from his first wife.  The hood has changed so much since then that he hardly recognized the street where he stayed.  The house isn't in that street but close to it, but that is not important.

We were charmed by this second house.  It already looked good in the pictures and seeing it with our own eyes just confirmed that.  The owners are still occupying it and were of course not at home when we came.  It has three upstairs rooms, so two less than the first house, but the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen have just been renovated, so we won't have any problems there, and the rest is just fab.  The feature that hubby really appreciates, though, is outside -- there's a real live brook at the back of the house, plus loads of garden space, both at the back and on one side.  It's actually a corner house, which makes it semi-detached, which we also both like.  The owners had put it up for sale barely 48 hours before our visit so there wasn't any 'For Sale' sign outside yet and their furniture and stuff was still inside, but we were excited.

We've now agreed to ditch the first candidate.  Hubby, though, wants to take a deep breath first and sleep over it and check if we still feel the same way in the morning.  The house we live in now was hubby's choice.  This house we're thinking of moving into was mine.  I guess that makes us quits.

On the way home, I told hubby I'd like to drive through the Liesbos again as the weather was exactly like yesterday's.  We stopped close to a walking path so that I could shoot.  You're actually looking at this year's choice for our Xmas cards.  I've just ordered them.
