Gateball

Took a different route for our walk this morning. Decided to have a look at the local croquet club only to find three gentlemen there playing a game we had never seen before. They explained it was gateball - the 'gates' are wider than croquet 'hoops' and the balls are smaller. Apparently it was
started in Japan in 1947 and not widely played in this part of the world.
