Winter

I went up to the allotment, mainly to dump the kitchen compost and feed the little blighters (gave them a new suet cake stuffed with mealworms; mmmm....). I did a bit of tidying up and picked another bag of mixed greens - hard to believe that the lettuces are still fine in spite of a couple of hard frosts last week. When I got back I managed to cross a couple of quite troublesome items off the list, so a good day. But there are still those banjo strings, dammit....

The blip shows a small row of some lively looking leaf beet with the customary self-sown heartsease. The bed full of crazy greens is in the distance left and the broad beans are looking perky in the distance right. But will you look at how the grass has just kept on growing......is it winter yet?
