The sweet icecream-girl in Hveragerði
Our week in the cottage, day 1
After my brother Björn and little niece Tanja Rut left around noon we decided to go visit Hveragerði.
In this charming village there is a festival during the weekend (Blómstrandi dagar - Blooming days from August 16th - 19th) and today the main events took place. One of them was at the ice-cream factory Kjörís where guests were invited to come and taste various types of ordinary and "exotic" ice-cream. Avocado, barbeque, Fisherman's Friend, dulse, carrot cake, pepper and Kahlua, just to name a few, and the young woman in the picture was serving mustard-flavored ice-cream. It was surprisingly tasty :)
Lots of things to see and do and photograph, lovely weather and crowds of people everywhere. I was a bit surpriced to see such a lot of people since there was a big event in Reykjavík on the same day (Menningarnótt).
In the evening my aunt Ásta and her daughter Eygló Dís joined us to spend the night at the cottage (they live in Vestmannaeyjar). They're going to Reykjavík in the morning and then driving to Akureyri later in the afternoon.
