En route

Platform 4 Carlisle, en route to a week's retreat at Hothorpe Hall. A rush, as ever, to get away but feeling very blessed.

I love being a senior citizen. First class ticket the length of the country - £35. Fruit and yoghurt breakfast on Glasgow/Carlisle leg, leek and potato soup offered as soon as I hopped off the chilly platform at Carlisle. Lunch later, after Preston. All very civilised.
