Another Sad Day

Half day today in order to attend an RNA Shipmates funeral.
Ron Bennett was ninety-five, born eleven years into the last century.
Seven years old at the end of the First World War he enlisted in the Royal Navy and survived his ships torpedoing with great loss of life.
It therefore seemed sad that he warranted a nineteen minute funeral service attended by twenty of his comrades from the RNA and some of the care home staff but no family.
Tea and cake followed at the cafe in Mawnan Smith.
Despite having a lot to do I opted not to return to work instead having a couple of extra hours with Clare before she left.
