Village Life

A crisp morning so out in the garden, cutting back more brownery, as opposed to greenery!  The hens had a grand time, pecking and scratching about in the undergrowth, and Ollie enjoyed his supervisory duties!

Made a start at cleaning the car in the afternoon.  General emptying of accumulated grot, shells, bits of paper, maps, sunglasses, interesting pieces of driftwood, chocolate wrappers, receipts . . . , and vacuumed up the sand and dog hair!  Sadly by then the light was fading, so it will need another good go at it before we put it up for sale.

Into the village, St Margaret's Hope, in the evening to hand out mince pies and mulled (non-alcoholic) wine, while the Salvation Army played carols and the Christmas lights were switched on.  It was a lovely atmosphere, folk of all ages, everyone happy and cheery, lots of chat and banter, little ones dashing about high as kites waiting for Santa and his bag of sweets!  That's it - the countdown has definitely begun!
