Shock treatment

Our local charity shop gets out of date flowers from M&S and the likes. I bought a beautiful bouquet for £2. There were a lot of roses in it and I have tried the shock treatment as advised by a florist friend. I trimmed the stems, and stood the roses in boiling water for a minute or so. Then ran the stems under the cold tape. Seems to have done the trick. Instead of just wilting and dying the roses are opening and look gorgeous
