Food Miles
Well beer miles I suppose. A couple of pints of Red Rocker today, on either side of a festive lunch.
It's brewed in Cromarty, 167 miles north of here, and the pub where I drank it is in Edinburgh, so further away again.
Lunch was exceptionally good. Wedgwood, in the Canongate (see extra).
Rabbit leg fritter, celeriac remoulade, cockles and capers;
venison stuffed with haggis, braised red cabbage, champ potato croquette, redcurrant jus; then
sea buckthorn and poppy seed parfait, lemon curd, white chocolate ice cream.
The service was great too. Not always easy with a group of 14. A place I hope to go back to.
Wedgwood
