to infinity and beyond

Saturday morning work. Then wander into KB with the kids to check out the maths outreach thingy. It was really good fun. Although I am not convinced that it is worth the effort. My impression was that the people who came (the parents) were already quite interested. The mathematical games were good fun and a challenge, but do you really learn something? Or even, can you learn something in an afternoon? The volunteers gave up their spare time, was that effective? I am not convinced. I did enjoy myself and will go back.
