Sierra Nevada--First Glimpse

We left the Monterey area this morning to return to Oakland, where we dropped off our rental car. Then we were chauffeured by our friends Ellie and Carl to their house at Lake Tahoe, 180 miles east and a bit north of Oakland (such a luxury to be driven :)  This was our first sight of the Sierra Nevada on the drive--very striking! After arrival, a lovely dinner and a relaxing evening.
