Skenfrith Sunset

It's Mrs BB first day off, the weather was dry, cold and windy, but ideal for a walk. I made a flask of coffee and we set of for Skenfrith, Monmouthshire, to do a walk we have done many times but not for a while.

Skenfrith is best known for it's castle, one of three in the area which include Grosmont and White Castle. The castles were founded in the 1100's to suppress the Welsh! I've done an aerial and there's more information on it if you are interested.

At the end of the walk, it was getting on for sunset as we climbed to the top of the mountain overlooking Skenfrith. The views were awesome with the setting sun casting lovely light on the landscape. Birds were enjoying flying in the last of the daylight. The mountain in the background of the photo is The Skirrid, another mountain we love walking around and the along the ridge.

The weather is due to change on Tuesday so ideal to make the most of the lovely weather we've had.
