Mud bath

My lovely brother turned 40 today.

We arrived en masse at Kirkby Lonsdale in the Lake District to celebrate his milestone. Lunchtime picnic plans were scuppered slightly by the ubiquitous rain (but I guess that's what makes it so beautifully green and lush).

By mid afternoon it was just damp so we convened on Jubilee field and played rounders in a veritable mud bath.
The younger members of the party gave us oldies a run for our money - and while we were wistfully looking towards the pub garden they were plotting world domination via Iphone app...(I think).

It was a wonderful day, toppped off with a lovley meal, presents and embarrassing anecdotes at a very obliging local hotel.
