The Taffner Collection

I spent a most enjoyable lunch today with the Directors of Lyon & Turnbull at their headquarters in Edinburgh.

This was an opportunity to have a private view of the Taffner Collection, within the fabulous setting of the Palladium, a neoclassical building designed by Archibald Elliot.

It was a joy to spend quality time viewing this special collection compiled by the Taffner's. This important Collection of Scottish Art is to be auctioned on 7 September 2012. Highlights include works by Charles Rennie Mackintosh & The Glasgow Four, and by Scottish Colourist F.C.B. Cadell. The Collection is the contents of the New York home of Donald L. Taffner, iconic independent television producer, and his wife Eleanor B. Taffner, and is valued at up to £1,000,000.

It will be a shame if most of this collection goes abroad.
