Rosemaling

Many years ago I lived for a year in a town called Hoyanger which is situated on a fjord on the west side of Norway. I was given this money box, among other things,  which is an example of Norwegian Rosemaling or folk art. 
On the end it says Spax mens du har. Which translated means Broke but you have.
