Hemmed in in Hameln!
Not quite sure why they've put the Pied Piper inside a giant snow globe; it's bad enough they wouldn't pay him in the first place! But I guess it's all part of the Festive spirit.
Jings but it's cold in these parts, varied between -2 and 3 the whole journey from the coast. Mind you, the frost covered landscapes were pretty impressive. After we arrived in Hamlen we wandered around the old town, had a great lunch, came back to the hotel and put on warmer gear before heading back out to the Christmas market. Which was closing when we got there! Really? 8 0'clock? But enough time for a gluewein so fair enough, then onward in search of a small beer vendor, duly found.
Back in the hotel, I may pass out soon since I've just topped up with a seriously strong rum hot toddy to fight the cold that's creeping up on me. But inward and westward, we're off to Blankenburg tomorrow ....
