Inside the Organ

We took apart Mom's (and Al's and my) childhood organ.  Built in the early 60's it was (literally) heavy with wires, vacuum tubes, and mercury switches.  Who designed this?  And what kind of training did those door-to-door repairmen have to be able to fix these things?  Long story short, the innards were incredible.
