What Christmas means to me
Started off with an early morning trip to Glasgow. The world was still covered in thick white frost which dissipated as we travelled west. It wasn't any warmer in Glasgow but alrhough there was no frost it was overcast with the damp bone chilling cold.
The meeting was interesting! The technology didn't work and we ended up with 2 colleagues participating by mobile phone from London, Matt on Ligia's mobile and Ian on mine. The meeting didn't move us forward much and a business plan was still lacking. At the end J and I had to make a quick exit to return east.
Our big day today so I had a proper lunch for once before the Members' Celebration. It was really good. A good buzz and a good mix of people. Our baubles captured 'What Christmas Means to Me'.
Then the mood, and the weather, changed. Rain hsd replaced frost as we moved to the church for the Carol Service. It was ok but not without its problems. The Kirk was freezing, one speaker couldn't attend, the ongregation was small and despite umpteen proof reads there was still one verse of 'wrong words'. But people seemed to be happy with it and after mince pies and mulled ginger cirdial we adjourned to the Tolbooth Tavern for a drink.
Home and bed before 10.30. I think Christmas has officially started.
