A little movement
Back to Kings College today and next door the ice rink at Somerset House has arrived.
I was a magazine designer back in the '80's working on titles as diverse as Elle and the Telegraph Saturday magazine. During this time and my 12 years on The Times movement of any sort in photographs was strictly forbidden.
Then a few fashion mags like ID and Dazed and Confused started to introduce a bit of artistic blur. Now it's seen to be OK in magazines generally but not in newspapers. I guess because newsprint is so unforgiving. Your picture may end up looking quite rough in the paper, but rough and out of focus is unforgivable.
