Building the Christmas tree

These guys are putting together a giant Christmas tree next to the cathedral, which is part of the zócalo (main plaza) of Oaxaca. I know it will be beautiful when finished, but I have to say that for me the best year was when they built, in this same spot, a castillo, which is a wonderful tower of fireworks. Cascades of fireworks spilled down the facade of the cathedral, and colorful fireworks lit the sky.
