End of the day

No, I haven’t gone back to Guilin or posted a shot from last week by mistake! This is Ninh Binh and just outside the city is some of Vietnam’s karst mountains. That’s where I’ll be heading tomorrow. Today I took the train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. It’s very different to the experience of travelling by train in Japan or China.

Hanoi station is undergoing some construction work with the central part of the station currently closed. You walk across the tracks to get to the platform. The train was comfortable and left on time. It’s only a 2.5 hour journey. After I arrived I went for a walk and found this view along the river.
