What a difference a rain makes

Hanging out in the garden this evening I was amazed at how much greener everything is after our rain last week. This grass was all dried out and brown before the rain and now it's waking up - we'll hopefully have a little green spell before it get's cold and everything gets brown and bare.

The rather poorly looking tree in the middle has been struck by lightening which split it (sometime before we moved here) and then had it's split half blown down in a bad windstorm this year - but it's hanging in there :0)
