Real to reel

Acetate relic,
Once dreams on a silver screen.
Real to reel to real.

Went to our local cinema tonight to see A United Kingdom (which I can thoroughly recommend).  We are very lucky to have an independent cinema in our small town  It celebrated it's centenary this year, which is quite an achievement.  The owner have also taken over the restaurant/bar across the road and have decorated it with old movie posters and reels of film.

Not sure what the film is in the reel pictured, but rather love the fact that 35mm film reels are still on display .... bring back memories of the local fleapit and the whirr of the projector, the motes of dust in the light beam ... and the gentle swearing of the projectionist when the film got mangled.
