Farewell
Two long meetings today in Glasgow. The first was the Children's Hearings Improvement Partnership; the second the Youth Justice Improvement Board.
Each with an agenda of improvement and each involving the children's hearng system. Much of the activity over the past 2 years or so will be relevant to the recently announced root and branch review of the care system.
Each meeting was chaired by Robert Marshall, the Deputy Director for Care and Justice in the Scottish Government. Robert is steeped in and a strong advocate for the Kilbrandon principles and the children's hearings system. After many years he is moving on from tonight. His input and influence will be missed.
On our way this evening to meet friends, there was a tail back on the Mound, adding the red stop lights to the white of the Christmas trees.
