Easier than Shoveling!

First snow storm of the season. When several inches of snow had fallen by this afternoon, my husband took out the plow. It was bitter cold with a strong east wind about 7 degree F with wind chill. Schools, colleges and other agencies closed up about noon in preparation for this major storm.

We have 1 1/2 miles of drive to the main highway and he cleared the road. It has been snowing steadily since he finished plowing in late afternoon, so he will be back at it at first light. Last winter we saw one small storm that required getting out the plow.

Snow is heavy, especially in the Pacific NW, where temperatures are more mild and the snow tends to be wet rather than dry in colder climes. It is much easier to plow several inches than it is 2 feet. Stay tuned!
