Crumble catastrophe.
Well we actually avoided a catastrophe, but still!
Having brought a lot of rhubarb up from mum and dad's garden (sorry, mum's garden), I need to use some of it up, so what better way than a rhubarb and raspberry crumble! Crumble making all went to plan, took it out the oven and put it on top of the cooker to cool down. A wee while later Alastair and I decided to make a lasagne, so we got all the stuff together, I put the hob on to boil some water. After a while I wondered why the water wasn't boiling, looked over to see the crumble, in it's glass dish, boiling. We swiftly evacuated the kitchen after switching everything off and putting a towel over the crumble to contain any explosion, and sat and waited. Fortunately, whether it was due to the stove plate being electric so cooling down slowly or whatever, an explosion was averted, and so far the dish seems to have survived! It did mean we didn't get to make our lasagne, and so a trip to tesco's for some sort of microwave food was necessary!
