Trench??

When purchased this little mug resembled ‘Trench Art’, but unless they were making shell cases out of 2 inch heavy duty copper piping then somehow I think this an attempt at making a replica – or just a mug out of some old 2 inch copper piping . . .
 
I acquired it at the FNDG last night from a friend who had found it in a charity shop and cleaned it up.  I finished the cleaning by submerging it in white vinegar (other colours are available) for a few hours, then polishing up with the aid of ‘Brasso’ (other products are available). 
 
I have been asked about my/our lighting etc a few times, so at extra there is a telephone snapshot of tonight’s set up.
