Dining Room Fireplace

This is another silly section of our house. Extra festooned at the moment with Xmas stuff that I just got out today. The stockings actually have names on them, all but one of them, but through the magic of photo editing I got rid of them. The small stockings are for the three dogs - two ours, one our granddog (child of #1 Son). There is actually one stocking with no name on it - last year it was for #2 Son's girlfriend. Whether she'll be here this year is still unknown.

The plastic house in the center is something The Husband found in a dumpster last year. It lights up and Santa and the reindeers move, and it plays Jingle Bells. Definitely silly. Quite a number of the things in the photo are *found* objects, actually. The clock, on the other hand, was given to us by my parents when we got married. It chugged along for years, but then finally stopped working several years ago, and no amount of fiddling by The Husband, or even by a proper clock person seems to be able to make it work reliably again. It ticks for a while and then stops. Spring is sprung, or something.
