10,000 miles

There are 10,000 coloured stripes along this cycle path between Cambridge and Great Shelford, representing the 10,000 miles of the National Cycle Network as of September 2005. Today it is over 14,000 miles long, and still growing!

P.S. if anyone is interested in getting out and cycling more, but wants to avoid roads as much as possible, Sustrans has a fantastic book which is well worth buying.
