Day 346/16. Goliath beetle.

A Marwell visit this afternoon with the macro lens. This is a Goliath Beetle, probably about 6cm (2 1/2 inches) long. These are among the 5 largest insects in the world..... yes, they can fly, no they do not bite and are completely harmless to humans.
...apart from the terror value if one flys past your ear I guess.....
