St Mary's Parish Church in Newick staged a Christmas Tree Festival over the weekend in conjuction with St Peter & St James, a local charity providing end of life care in the district. Around 30 village clubs and associations, church groups and individuals took up the invitation to enter a decorated tree.

This characterful angel graced the tree put up by the Parish Church Choir. Today's 'Extras' show the winner of the second prize: the Village Primary School tree (beside the altar in the sanctuary of the church); a general view of the event; and the Church's own Nativity scene, which provides a seasonal link to yesterday's Blip.
