Let it snow.....

.....let it snow.....let it snow!

Tis summer......but feels like winter, hail lashing at my window pane on waking this morning, cold gusts of wind howling round the corners of shops, rain and more rain between pockets of sunshine.....but.....I really wasn't expecting snow!!

The Puketeraki Range is normally free of snow during our summer months but not this year. Hubby and I left home, 16C and 45 mins later and from where this shot was taken it was a mere 9C - crazy!

For those who know the area this is the inland scenic drive between Cust and Oxford, where the grass is lush at present, barley is nearly golden and today some snow, the closest we'll get to having snow for Christmas - I think.

A day of several trips to the shops, mum asked if I was forgetting things - who me, nah not possible :)))
