colourful tup!

This ram was looking quite pleased with himself and even walked towards us rather than away.
The red colour is not blood (you will be glad to know) but raddle which he will smear on his ladies when he mounts them. The farmer will then know that they have been covered. After a bit he, or she, can change the colour of the raddle and get an idea of the approximate lambing date. All a little technical, you see, even if the ram/tup/tip thinks he's just doing what comes naturally!
