All good wings
From the third and final day of Birdfair 2012, at Rutland. This final day of the Birdfair was of course eventful, yet tinged with an air of sadness and tiredness. We had all walked many miles by now in the constant heat and humidity, talked to many people and become more educated. In store for me today was Mike's taster talk on his new book, then the all-important 'Celebrity Wild Brain of Britain' which was won by nature author Dominic Couzens. Later, it was off for a 'pond dip' with Nick Baker and friends. I was also back and forth to the BTO stand where they were demonstrating bird ringing. In this example, they had just ringed a Sedge Warbler, and were about to release it. This image was captured just moments before release.
In the evening we all celebrated a great and successful Birdfair back at 'HQ' starting with a sampling of the local pub cider, and then an indoor 'BBQ'. Tomorrow morning would be a dampened day in many ways as we said au revoir and parted to our home destinations.
