River Almond

We had our club Christmas walk today.  We started with tea and scones at the Hawes Inn at Queensferry, then we walked through the Dalmeny estate and along the River Forth and eventually to the River Almond, where I spotted the heron on the weir.  We finished our walk at Cramond looking towards the island.  We did almost eight very pleasant miles and apart from one short spell of rain, we were very lucky with the weather, even getting some sun in the latter part of our walk. 

We then headed to the Norton House Hotel near Edinburgh for a slap up Christmas meal, lots of indulgence there.

Now I need to sleep it all off!
