13th door of advent calendar: Saint Lucia

Lucia Day is celebrated specially in swedish tradition in Finland annually on 13 December.

Memorial Day was originally a Catholic saint on the calendar, but today it is celebrated primarily in the Swedish culture. Traditionally Lucia is maiden, who is dressed in white clothes, red belt and a candle crown and holds in his hand a candle. And she had choir with her. In the peaceful show Lucia and the choir sing xmas carrolls plus one very special song (from timecode 2.20 in the video)

The idea is that Lucia brings light into the darkness of winter. The blip is from Finnish broadcasting co Lucia day show for radio.

In the Julian calendar, the winter solstice was hit in the Middle Age's Lucia day, which is why this Day is also celebrated as feast of light. This is the longest night of the year, so this joined the celebration of light pagan customs and beliefs united in the name of Lucian.
