A Great Blue
This morning Suzanne and I headed to DC to walk around Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88 acre portion of the National Park Service. On our way, we stopped at a site along the C&O Canal where I have seen a solitary Great Blue Heron. I have probably been to this location a dozen times, and every time, this old heron is there. I'm assuming he/she's old because of the way he hunkers down on the canal bank and watches the world go by. This time he was hungry, and active in the water. I didn't get a clear shot of a fish in his mouth, but it was fun trying.
