Geology Walk

Today four of us did the pre-walk for the Geology Walk in the Autumn Walking Festival. We had a lovely day out in perfect walking weather. The rain that was forecast stayed away.

Here is one of the rocks we found on the banks of the River South Tyne. You can see the plant fossils that have been uncovered on the surface. Our Geologist leader was able to interpret the landscape of the South Tyne valley to us. It's going to be a cracking walk on the day.
