Pohutukawa or New Zealand Christmas tree

These trees flower in early summer in time for Christmas which is why they are considered New Zealand's Christmas tree - red flowers on green foliage.
They grow in warm coastal areas. I was in Tauranga today at my grandson's prize gIving. The pohutukawa were in full flower and looking amazing.
