A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Dear Diary,

I made it in good time to Mary's house yesterday only to find out that our cousin's Christmas gathering for today is cancelled!  Three cousins are under the weather so we will do it after the New Year.  One year, with one thing and another, our Christmas party was in May!  No matter, we have a wonderful time whenever we get together.

Mary had gone all out decorating the house, there is Christmas in every corner.  I don't know how she does it.  This little tree in the back yard is her Charlie Brown tree in honor of her son who passed away this past June.  He was a practicing Buddhist, hence the little Buddha underneath.
There are a lot of Christmas specials on television now and the Charlie Brown story is a perpetual favorite.  It reminds us of what Christmas is suppose to be about and lavish presents and over the top decorations aren't it.

So, Mary and I will visit a local museum today instead of fa-la-laing with the others and we will have a great time because Christmas is about friends and family and we are both.
