Plasma ball

This is an exhibit at Landmatk. Apparently the glass ball is evavuated then filled with neon and other noble gases. The energy supplied to the central electrode is radio frquency and the path of this energy to a conductor such as a hand placed near to the globe causes the colohred plasma filaments to form. And it looks pretty. They were invented by Tesla.
