Festive Glitter

I had this idea to photograph 'festive fun' with glitter and fairy lights.  To my amazement I persuaded Ben into the garden to do some glitter blowing - 98% of which was out of focus rubbish.  We abandoned the fairy lights (on the head) fairly quickly as looking far too naff.

I experimented on both the cameras I have, and with various settings, so now have some ideas on how to improve it for the next time I have glitter, a sunny day and a willing victim.
