At the far end of the beach the ringed plovers lifted and swarmed around in harmonious clouds that just skimmed the waves before circling and returning to rest on the puddled shore. It was one of those awe-inspiring displays where they all turn as one... mind you they still have a little to learn from Aberystwyth starlings!
