The Living Years

Surf School

Mum suggested yesterday that I book myself in for surf lessons this week. I was unsure at first as it is something I have always wanted to do but as a teenager I felt going for lessons was really uncool. As always time went on and even though we've been in Devon for 16 years, I still couldn't surf.

When I woke up. I bit the bullet (correct expression?), phoned up and booked myself in for my first lesson that very afternoon.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Why did I leave it so long?! Surfing kicks bodyboarding's bottom. By the end of my first 2 hour lesson I was addicted. The instructors were so nice, friendly and not at all judgmental. I might not have been as good as the little kids but I decided to take the slow and steady approach. This was the start of a two week surf obsessed holiday at home.
