Fish tail groynes at Cobbold's Point
This weekend is our SLPH Facebook photography group Christmas Weekend in Felixstowe.
Steve Oldfield, Helen Trust and I were staying an extra couple of days so this morning, after picking Helen up, we headed to The Orwell Hotel in Felixstowe.
We arrived at our hotel a little too early to check in so we dropped our bags and headed into town for some lunch at Cafe Bencotto.
After checking in to our rooms, we drove out to Cobbold's Point on the sea front for a sunset shoot. This stretch of the coast has many defences to protect the coast from erosion, including traditional wooden groynes, sea walls, rock armour and breakwaters and rock groynes, including these fish tail rock groynes featured in my blip. The weather was lovely today with sunshine, blue skies and clouds - perfect for some great colour at sunset.
Back to the hotel and a quick shower before meeting in the hotel bar for a pre dinner drink and then a delicious dinner in Prezzo in town.
Great company, great fun and great photography - a fantastic start to the weekend :-)
I sincerely apologise for my sporadic commenting at the moment; life is very hectic right now and i'm still trying to catch up on processing the photos from recent trips! I really do appreciate you all taking the time to comment and I hope things will improve soon so that I can spend more time enjoying your wonderful journals.
